I have been painting and drawing for over thirty years. I suppose I have benefitted from some early formal training, but for the most part I am self-taught. My goal is to create images which transmit clarity of subject matter. Not only the reproduction of the image, but also such passion as I am able to instill.

My work is one hundred percent hand rendered using photographic images as reference, though I prefer plein-aire painting where possible. I am neither proficient with nor inclined toward computer generated images. I shun mechanical devices to the point that a 'straight edge' is foreign to my studio.

Painting and drawing, like many creative tasks is often a lonely and thankless business. I am inspired working on commissioned pieces knowing the creation will be shared by the recipient. I offer not only a superior piece of meaningful art, but also a mutual experience of creative endeavor.
